Mr. Gubany is a keen observer of human behavior whose insights continue to startle those who read his works.
Paul's ability to help people is a natural outgrowth of his innate intuitive strengths, his propensity to see truth, his willingness to listen, and his study of the origins of money and its subsequent impact on western civilization.
His observations of family-of-origin beliefs about money and his foray into the interpretation and creation of myths have led to uncanny, yet cogent, insights into our money maladies; and to the sources and forces of the beliefs that lie behind the maladies. Mr. Gubany's interest in the intellectual components of money came about while earning his MBA at a Top 50 business school studying corporate and personal finance—which he has personally taught.
The need to help adults with their money issues became clear to him while teaching personal finance—when many an adult said: "I wish I'd had a class like this when I was in school."
In addition to his education and his teaching backgrounds, Mr. Gubany manages several trusts and holds a certification as a Cash Flow Investor. At one time or another, his own emotionally inappropriate relationships with money led him to employ all of the money-centric coping strategies in order to deal with his unhappiness. The personal pain suffered during those long years is part of the genesis for this book. It took years of therapy and a strong interest in archetypal psychology, analytical psychology, the psyche itself, and dream analysis in order to discover his coping strategies, defeat them, replace them with healthy beliefs about money—and then write A Return to Abundance.
Paul is a current member of the CG Jung Society of St. Louis and former member of its board of directors. Self-taught in the classics, he derives much of his education about purpose and the meaning of life from mythology, spirituality, and the great books. His spiritual practice has given him the insights, drive, inner alignment, and guidance to develop a body of knowledge about money that ranges far outside the box of financial instruments and de rigueur money hot-topics... and deep into the heart of the problems we face in modern society. He is studied in the great ideas of philosophy, the wonders of metaphysics, and the workings of the human brain.
